The 54%: Why You Should Care About How You Sit

On average, Americans spend 13 hours per day sitting—more than any other single activity—but most of us aren’t comfortable when we do it. We feel like we are slouching or our muscles ache. Ask us to sit on a metal bleacher for three hours and we immediately tense up.

When we spend more than half of any given day in an uncomfortable position, inevitably that will have a ripple effect on our alignment and ultimately our performance. What if there was a way to sit anywhere with effortless balance, not by practicing postural exercises or constantly keeping your mind on your posture?

Dr. Pedersen will teach you the way to sit with exceptional balance, based on human anatomy, while being comfortable and relaxed. The overall difference in how your body looks, feels, and ages will be extraordinary.

Colin Triplett

Colin Triplett has been in the fitness industry for over 7 years, but his passion for helping others in their health and fitness journey started in college when his long-time mentor passed away after a slow decline into worse and worse health.

It was this experience that has driven him to search, both for himself and those around him, how to MAXIMIZE life and to avoid the pain and suffering that comes from the loss of health and the reliance on medicine.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in Psychology at SCU, he went on to earn a skills certificate as a personal trainer from De Anza College. During that time he worked with the adapted PE program where he helped disabled students regain their movement. This was a particularly impactful experience as it showed him just how important movement is to your quality of life.

Colin is most passionate about enhancing the lives of those around him, through the wonders of proper exercise and the power of having a proper mindset. His mission is to foster a community of people who take their health into their own hands and live their lives without limits.

Dr. Brant Pedersen

Dr. Brant Pedersen, DC, CCSP® has enjoyed his thriving sports chiropractic practice, Positive Motion Health, in Los Gatos, California for the past 12 years. He and his team focus on helping patients with unresolved muscle and joint problems feel better in just a handful of visits.

In 2014, he spent three weeks of intensive study at the Aplomb Institute in Paris discovering the foundation of postural balance to deepen his knowledge of the human body and its optimal function. When he is not helping his patients or teaching, Dr. Pedersen enjoys spending time with his wife and their two young sons on the beach or up in the snow.

Dr. Julie Tran-Olive

Dr. Julie Tran-Olive, ND, LAc, is a native of San Jose, CA. She earned a BA in Psychology from The University of Redlands in CA. Inspired by the idea that there is more to healing than just changing brain chemistry, Dr. Tran-Olive decided to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine as an avenue to explore whole person healing.

Her studies took her across the country to Bridgeport, Connecticut where she earned her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and two Masters; one in Human Nutrition and one in Acupuncture; all from the University of Bridgeport.

A firm believer in Hippocrates who said “Let food be thy medicine,” Dr. Tran-Olive trained with Dr. Peter D’Adamo, ND, author of the New York Times Bestseller, Eat Right for Your Type (The Blood Type Diet) at the world renowned D’Adamo Clinic.

During this time she also became a Fellow of the Institute for Human Individuality (FIFHI). Dr. Tran-Olive is happy to currently be back home in San Jose, CA; where she completed her Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Five Branches University.

An avid researcher and clinician, Dr. Tran-Olive enjoys writing articles and keeping patients abreast of new treatment methods. She is the author of the eBook The Best Book on Naturopathy, a guide for starting a career in naturopathic medicine. When not researching or seeing patients she enjoys relaxing, music and spending time with her husband.
